Atheists to Fly July 4 Airplane Banners in 27 States: ‘God-LESS America,‘ ’Atheism is Patriotic’

…There [is] no law against a man’s belief…
That is the loophole and I don’t have a problem with that. Atheism by its very definition is a philosophy and a belief. By saying that one ‘believes’ that there is no god, they embrace a counter set of beliefs. It is when one hides their beliefs and ridicules another that lies begin to be told. Unfortunately, atheism cannot stand without leaning on a belief in God, and then attacking God for being God.
It’s like how C.S. Lewis puts it, how can you recognize a crooked line without knowing what a straight line is?
If atheists want to promote their beliefs, let them do so; without an appeal to the existence of God.
Now, try not to think of shooting an elephant…

Now the story (always read the end first, then work upwards)

Here is the meat of the story: Atheists are claiming 'persecution' because those intolerant Christians won't help them ridicule Christian beliefs.

Imagine that...

But, the campaign hasn‘t even been implemented yet and it’s already off to a rocky start. According to Justin Jaye of Fly Signs Aerial Advertising, the guy who helped organize the nation-wide blitz, of the 85 people in the nation who are able to fly these banner-bearing planes, only 17 agreed to participate. The fear of public reaction and the confines of personal religious belief led the majority of these individuals to refuse service. SeattleWeekly.com has more:

Scott…tells Seattle Weekly that in larger cities and more liberal areas, he had no trouble finding pilots to take the banners to the sky. But in Southern states like Georgia, South Carolina, Arkansas and other conservative states like Montana, Kansas, and Utah, there apparently wasn’t a single pilot to be found who would fly a banner promoting atheism.

...“This is a clear reminder of why we need to keep fighting because the bigotry against us is so thick that a lot of the pilots are afraid to fly our banners.”

Boo-Freaking-Hoo...

Smilin' Jon Huntsman abandons pro-life platform at the drop of a hat.

Great, just what we need, another No-Mo that the liberals love, have no values, and pretend to be one of us.

This leads me to ask of the top 6 Mormons in politics, Reed, Hatch, Bennett, Romney, Huntsman, and Leavitt: If any of them were to be tried as a Mormon, based on voting record or behavior, who would you convict and who acquit?

If politics and a moral compass are mutually exclusive in today's politics, since when did this happen?

Was George Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, or any other founding father, pro-secularist?

Then what was the Constitution based on?

How Things Work Around Here

Little Johnny

The kids filed back into class Monday morning. They were very excited. Their weekend assignment was to sell something, then give a talk on productive salesmanship.

Little Sally led off: "I sold girl scout cookies and I made $30," she said proudly, "My sales approach was to appeal to the customer's civil spirit and I credit that approach for my obvious success." "Very good," said the teacher.

Little Mary was next: "I sold magazines," she said, "I made $45 and I explained to everyone that magazines would keep them up on current events.” "Very good, Mary" said the teacher.

Eventually, it was Little Johnny's turn. The teacher held her breath ... Little Johnny walked to the front of the classroom and dumped a box full of cash on the teacher's desk. "$2,467" he said. "$2,467!" cried the teacher, "What in the world were you selling?"

"Toothbrushes," said Little Johnny.

"Toothbrushes!" echoed the teacher, "How could you possibly sell enough tooth brushes to make that much money?"

"I found the busiest corner in town," said Little Johnny. "I set up a Dip & Chip stand and gave everybody who walked by a free sample."

They all said the same thing, "Hey, this tastes like dog crap!"

Then I would say, "It is dog crap. Wanna' buy a toothbrush?"

"I used the Obama approach of giving you something shitty for free, and then making you pay to get the taste out of your mouth."

The Green Thing

Before environmentalism, there was conservation. They might appear to be the same thing, but they are vastly different. Essentially, environmentalism is an emotion while conservation is an action.
In the line at the store, the cashier told the older woman that she should bring her own grocery bag because plastic bags weren't good for the environment.

The woman apologized to him and explained, "We didn't have the green thing back in my day."

The clerk responded, "That's our problem today. The former generation did not care enough to save our environment."

He was right, that generation didn't have the green thing in its day.

Back then, they returned their milk bottles, soda bottles and beer bottles to the store. The store sent them back to the plant to be washed and sterilized and refilled, so it could use the same bottles over and over. So they really were recycled.

But they didn't have the green thing back in that customer's day.

In her day, they walked up stairs, because they didn't have an escalator in every store and office building. They walked to the grocery store and didn't climb into a 300-horsepower machine every time they had to go two blocks.

But she was right. They didn't have the green thing in her day.

Back then, they washed the baby's diapers because they didn't have the throw-away kind. They dried clothes on a line, not in an energy gobbling machine burning up 220 volts - wind and solar power really did dry the clothes. Kids got hand-me-down clothes from their brothers or sisters, not always brand-new clothing.

But that old lady is right, they didn't have the green thing back in her day.

Back then, they had one TV, or radio, in the house - not a TV in every room. And the TV had a small screen the size of a handkerchief, not a screen the size of the state of Montana. In the kitchen, they blended and stirred by hand because they didn't have electric machines to do everything for you.

When they packaged a fragile item to send in the mail, they used a wadded up old newspaper to cushion it, not Styrofoam or plastic bubble wrap.

Back then, they didn't fire up an engine and burn gasoline just to cut the lawn. They used a push mower that ran on human power. They exercised by working so they didn't need to go to a health club to run on treadmills that operate on electricity.

But she's right, they didn't have the green thing back then.

They drank from a fountain when they were thirsty instead of using a cup or a plastic bottle every time they had a drink of water. They refilled their writing pens with ink instead of buying a new pen, and they replaced the razor blades in a razor instead of throwing away the whole razor just because the blade got dull. But they didn't have the green thing back then.

Back then, people took the streetcar or a bus and kids rode their bikes to school or rode the school bus instead of turning their moms into a 24-hour taxi service. They had one electrical outlet in a room, not an entire bank of sockets to power a dozen appliances. And they didn't need a computerized gadget to receive a signal beamed from satellites 2,000 miles out in space in order to find the nearest pizza joint.

But isn't it sad the current generation laments how wasteful the old folks were just because they didn't have the green thing back then?

~Author Unknown~

I doubt that anyone would have tolerated this back when conservation was practiced and not environmentalism.

Mitt Romney on Newsweek cover

Mitt Romney target of ridicule on Newsweek. What a surprise that is...

Now, this is something we've all gotten used to. A bigoted press attacking a conservative candidate for his/her beliefs. Romney, love him or not, has become the target of such attacks.

"Can a MORMON be trusted in a position of power?"

My question is this:
Why hasn't Harry Reid's MORMONISM ever been brought into question?
Or, more to the point, if he were ever put on trial for being a Mormon, would there be any evidence that might be used against him?

Probably not.

So, taken that conservatives are judged by much higher standards, and that Reid has set the low standard as a politician and Mormon, this ought to be on the next Newsweek front page:

Tale of the Sneaky Pringles

One of my many weaknesses is a good can of greasy, pre-processed, stack-able, potato chips. On the days that I allow myself said indulgence, Walmart is the place to go.

Walmart, being the 12th largest country in the world, GDP-wise, is really good at keeping prices low. Not all the time, but generally Walmart does the job.

The brunt of this low price obsession usually falls on the vendor. The employees are getting better treatment these days, but this is retail for crying out loud; if you don't have customers nobody would be working.

Let's face it, Walmart has created a lot of wealth for everyone. Bitching and whining aside, Walmart has done a spectacular job at providing millions of choices in a clean and safe environment. Ever been to Carnita? In Mexico? Case closed.

This one example has me fascinated though. Walmart's emphasis is always on keeping the margin razor thin. Even when it means getting tough with bigger vendors.

Enter Pringles vs Lays. Essentially the same, except that Pringles has raised their prices by 50%. What used to be a buck is now a buck-fiffdy. That is an outrage! Fiffdy cent? Damn!

Anyway, during my infrequent trips to the chip aisle, I've noticed something interesting:

Trick #1, Pringles started monkeying with their price. A buck, a buck & a quarter, back to a buck, up to one fifty, and back.

Trick #2, Pringles, now a solid $1.50, and Lays, holding strong at $1.00, used to be placed side by side. That created a huge advantage for Lays. Then they began to drift apart. It's always over money, isn't it?

Trick #3, Bulk pricing. Pringles featured a 3 pack for $3.00. You were again getting the product for a buck, you just had to buy three of 'em.

The Pringles display is now ensconced in the coveted center aisle. With its own big sign. Lays still flying off the shelves in the corner.

Trick #4, The imperceptible difference. Pringles sneakily made a can that by itself looks like a regular can. The above photograph proves that the devil in the handlebar mustache is even more devious than once thought.

Results: This 14.5 oz. can is now a buck individually vs. the steadfast 15.5 oz. can, for a buck, from Lays. All this wrangling and posturing over FIFTY CENTS?!

In the end, Lays will end up raising prices as well.

That's not what this story is about. The biggest story of this century will be: How private business always ends up being the responsible ones for insane government policy.

Did Pringles or Lays scream for a bailout? How much Stimulus did they get? Where were the Union blockades demanding that the people pay $5.00 a can, just like in Europe?

The fact is that despite the catastrophic policies via our current Socialist President, his Communist cabinet, and illegal ties with some of the worst people in the world; a hopelessly corrupt Congress (Democrat & Republican alike), U.N. pressure, special interest shills, and lobbying groups; private industry is still managing to keep this economy afloat. Barely. They've lost over 1.5 million productive jobs that were converted into 1 million non-productive government positions. Unemployment has been falsely reported for the last two years as being under 10%, when in fact it is close to 20%. Let's not even start with the regulations...

The tale of the Sneaky Pringles is more about compromise, restraint, dialogue, and strict financial responsibility.

Hell, I'd trade the entire political system for Pringles vs Lays.

"I'm a Pringle-o-crat!" vs. "I'm a Lays-publican!" Can you imagine what our world would be like if our political representatives had to work for a living?

We'd be fighting over FIFTY CENTS instead of FIFTY BILLION.

Where's The Baby...

THERE'S THE BABY!!!

And you can play that game with a child for hours. Babies will appear completely surprised and then eventually become bored. But babies don't seem to figure out that the same face appears from behind a curtain of hands because NOTHING HAS CHANGED.

Can't think of a better metaphor for our Media today.

Thanks Mr. Barone for pointing out how stupid they think we are. Of course, when the MSM is pointing that finger, there's three pointing back.

“New U.S. claims for unemployment benefits unexpectedly climbed,” reported cnbc.com May 25.

“Personal consumption fell,” Business Insider reported the same day, “when it was expected to rise.”

“Durable goods declined 3.6 percent last month,” Reuters reported May 25, “worse than economists’ expectations.”

“Previously owned home sales unexpectedly fall,” headlined Bloomberg News May 19.

“U.S. home construction fell unexpectedly in April,” wrote the Wall Street Journal May 18.

Barone goes on to quote “How many times in a row can something happen unexpectedly before the experts start to, you know, expect it? At some point, shouldn’t they be required to state the foundation for their expectations?”

Which brings us back to the baby. How many times do we have to be lied to for us to finally say, ENOUGH!

How can 80% of an entire industry still act surprised by economic facts established over 100 years ago?

Lurid Rapper Gets an Invite to da' House

First off, apparently it's okay to promote illegal guns, president burning, cop killing, gang violence, and other incoherent bumptiousness, as long as.. What? How much further can Americans retreat?

While owning legal firearms, praising Presidents who once supported the Constitution, assisting and not 'overworking' our local law enforcement, and other *gasp* Christian activities, are considered 'terroristic' according to those same people.

Just what have we become? We demand social justice at the expense of the just. We demand fairness at the expense of those who deserve it the most. We enforce a twisted sense of morality that is arbitrary and twisted.

We pay out trillions of undeserved entitlements, kill our own posterity, and heap blame upon those who are simply aghast spectators of the world's greatest nation imploding. Meanwhile, Sarah Palin will catch hell for criticizing this abomination and we'll just keep moving along.

The Welfare State Almost Outnumbers Us Suckers.

In his piece, "Reliance on Uncle Sam hits a record", Dennis Cauchon, of USA TODAY, begins by stating an Obama dream. "Americans depended more on government assistance in 2010 than at any other time in the nation's history..." "A record 18.3% of the nation's total personal income was a payment from the government..." From the government, that's our taxes folks, not some benign happy faced Santa.

He finishes with this stunner, " Wages accounted for the lowest share of income — 51.0% — since the government began keeping track in 1929."

So, what does that mean? It means that the few of us who work will pay higher and higher amounts of outright taxes, and a multitude of continuing hidden taxes.

Do you really think that by taxing business it won't affect us? It's like sawing off the branch we're sitting on. We, the consumer, pay their taxes. Nobody else. We pay government to produce nothing. Government ROI=ZERO. It's the law. So, who is footing the bill for everything?

Yes, you. You the sucker who elected an "R" or a "D" thinking they were for the little guy. You that sucker who joined a Union thinking that they were helping you. All the people you let grab more and more power from you have been laughing you in the face all the while.

We have been warned for over 75 years that this day will come. A day when the takers will outnumber the suckers. A day is soon coming when the suckers will stop giving. They will have woken up. The day the suckers start standing up for themselves is the day this all turns around.

Where will all the takers be then? Let's ask Stalin, since all the Proggers love him.

That wasn't an earthquake at Target last month

When I first saw this I thought, "Doesn't California have enough earthquakes?!"
Second question was simply, where did all the funding come from? Who organized this? Who bought all those bagged lunches and hired the buses to drive them in from their gated enclaves?

Of course, SEIU.

I've seen this kind of crowd before; upper East Bench housewives with nothing to do and full of self-righteous-do-gooderism born of a complete ignorance for how the real world works. A catered protest where they have to be transported some distance to be among their commoner serfs is so full of hypocrisy that one struggles to understand. But, there is nothing to understand. It is self loathing and visceral. A flash in the pan, no skin in the game, pot stirring.

They protest loudly, ruin everyone else's day, and then after a safe bus ride to a more safe part of town, smugly hop into their Volvo SUV's and drive home in time to yell at the maid for not preparing dinner before young Heathclif has to make his no-score soccer game at the club.

Marx, Freud, and Progressives generally, have all always found a wealth of 'useful idiots' to whip up into a mindless emotional frenzy among the ranks of ungrateful elitists.

Re: Fw: Fwd: FW: And most of the countries hate us

So, I get this "Re: Fw: Fwd: FW:" message sent straight to me via my Inter-Web-Electrical-Mail-Reading-Machine and forthwith conclude that this message must be of the uppermost urgency to be attended to immediately. After all, with all those exclamation marks it must be a life of death issue.

Oh, read on dear reader, you decide:

Someone please tell me what the HELL's wrong with
all the people that run this country!!!!!! Both
Republicians
&
Democrats

We're "broke" & can't help our own Seniors, Veterans, Orphans, Homeless etc.,???????????

In the last months we have provided aid to Haiti , Chile , Pakistan, Lybia, Egypt and Turkey .. And now Japan
Literally, BILLIONS of DOLLARS!!!

Our retired seniors living on a 'fixed income' receive no aid nor do they get any breaks while our government and religious organizations pour
Hundreds of Billions of $$$$$$'s and Tons of Food to Foreign Countries!

We have hundreds of adoptable children who are shoved aside to make room for the adoption of foreign orphans.
AMERICA: a country where we have homeless without shelter, children going to bed hungry, elderly going without 'needed' meds, and mentally ill without treatment -etc,etc.

YET......................
They have a 'Benefit' for the people of Haiti on 12 TV stations, ships and planes lining up with food, water, tents clothes, bedding, doctors and medical supplies.

Imagine if the *GOVERNMENT* gave 'US' the same support they give to other countries.

Sad isn't it?

99% of people won't have the guts to forward this.
I'm one of the 1% -- I Just Did

And it was a stupid thing to do.

Actually, the amount of entitlement spending that goes to medicare, medicaid, social security, and other ponzi schemes, (that depend an increase of payments over time), far outstrip our foreign spending. By TRILLIONS OF DOLLARS.

To include religious organizations is a clear liberal foul, since conservatives VASTLY out-contribute in helping the poor via charitable contributions both locally and internationally. They give and give and give. Compare the tax returns from our elected officials and see that our current president, vp, and his liberal cabinet typically donate 2% - 4% to charity (and those are all liberal causes which ALSO receive government contributions).

Your 'government' can only take and take and take. What they dribble out isn't charitable, it bribery.

Add to that the fact that RICH or POOR, conservative Christians contribute between 10% to 30% and more after paying their taxes, which constitute all of the governments wasteful overspending.

THE VERY SAD FACT OF THE MATTER IS THAT PRIVATE, CHRISTIAN, CONSERVATIVE, *GASP* TEA PARTY TYPES, ARE THE ONES WHO CARRY THE BULK OF CHARITABLE CONTRIBUTIONS BOTH FOREIGN AND DOMESTIC.

What is worse, GOVERNMENT has caused ALL of these problems. Social Security was never, NEVER, intended to act as a retirement plan. But, once the mega corporations (fascist, government controlled) realized that they didn't need to pay pensions to the serfs, and that the government would see to that, they raided those pension plans.

You can't adopt American children for two reasons: First, ONE AND A QUARTER MILLION, 1,250,000 children are aborted yearly. That is TWO AND A QUARTER A SECOND!
In the time it took me to write this response, almost one thousand children were THROWN IN THE TRASH. Not one abortion was performed by a Christian.

And, you and I paid for each one of them.

Second, adoption regulations in the US are much stricter than adopting abroad. Most families try for years to adopt locally but are met with faceless government bureaucrats who prevent, delay, and frustrate the process.

And, you and I paid for that too.

Third, most 'mothers' are not willing to give up a child that will likely be raised in squalor and abuse for one simple reason: We will pay her to keep this ransom baby. She will get free food, free rent, free cable, and a wide variety of paramours willing to impregnate her repeatedly for more benefits.

The government should not be giving us ANYTHING, except for three things: 1. National Defense 2. Civil law & enforcement 3. A stable currency

All other benefits were meant to be private organizations and local government, to avoid what is happening right now; the bankrupting of our country.

My point is this: WE DON'T NEED MORE GOVERNMENT, WE NEED LESS.

WHAT WE DO NEED, AND SOON, IS A MASS REALIZATION THAT THERE IS A MORAL AUTHORITY -- NAMELY GOD -- WHO HAS BEEN IGNORED IN THE LAST DECLINING 100 YEARS.

Finally, what is the government? It is people. We are all people. Just, those people get paid twice as much as you or I do, to work half as much, and accomplish a mere fraction of what an intact family and community could.

Don't believe all that liberal - progressive bilge. Our problems lie in demanding from government more of what we already hate.

Where Were You When We Needed You, Orrin?

Lately, the Senator has been sending an email (unsolicited) to my inbox trying to convince me that the new, fist swinging, Orrin Hatch, is the only person who can 'bring the government under control.'

My response is, where were you when we needed you? When you were chummy with the Communist, Ted Kennedy, making deals that expanded government into education and making it the unworkable public sector mess it is today; where were you, Mr. Private Sector Conservative?

When your buddy Bill Bennett (we won't even touch his record) promised to push term limits and only run that many, where were you? When we needed a voice in judiciary appointments, too countless to name here, where were you? For the countless times we needed someone who would push government intrusion, regulation, and higher taxes, crushing private sector initiative; where were you?

I voted for your sorry ass every-single-election because you were a hair better than the Democrat -- a single hair. "Better the Devil you know", as Kipling would say. Well, he got one thing right. You had the political capital, the support of the people, and dare I say, the moral impetus of a religion that values freedom above all else; so, where were you?

I'll tell you. You were never where you needed to be for the right reasons because your reasons were different from ours. You are a political chameleon willing to change colors to blend in with the background. Chameleons are creatures that specialize in not standing out. Mission accomplished.

Now you have a savvy new email campaign, website, and all that hip tech that makes you look all next generation Tea Party and all that. Doubtless, you paid top dollar (of our money) to make yourself over for the millionth time so that when elections roll around we'll elect another Orrin Hatch, not the old one, but the hip new Orrin; the Orrin that this time cares about freedom.

I get your newsletters full of cut 'n paste banality and wonder if you've ever read anything about the world around you. The bullet point topics, like "The Importance of Tax Reform" are so incredibly stupid that it could make a persons head explode. Of course, the article has the link to another one of your bland speeches stating the obvious in as colorless way as possible.

So, Orrin, where were you when we needed you?

Helping yourself to our favors and then vanishing.

14 yr old Girl Raped by Cousin, Tired for Adultry, and Whipped to Death

This is the face of EVIL. This is the culture that we are inviting to our shores, supporting all over the world, and will be punished by if things keep going the way they are.

The imam at the local mosque said she was guilty of having an affair with a married man. Her family said she was raped. The imam disagreed. He ordered a fatwa: 101 public lashes. She lasted only 70.
  • 14-year-old Hena Akhter was found guilty of adultery and sentenced to 101 public lashes under Shariah law.
  • She died from being flogged — despite Shariah law being outlawed in Bangladesh — but doctors tried to cover that up.
  • Her family claims she was raped by a cousin.
  • Police are now "investigating" the incident.
Not only was she raped by her own relative, but the Islamic community supported her torture and murder by covering up the cause of death, "an initial autopsy report cited no injuries and deemed her death a suicide".

This would be an outrage if the press had any courage whatsoever. Instead, they just cower and write fatuous stories about how bad America is.

I thought the grand liberal chant was, "It's for the children." See how little they really care.

I apologize: Obamulus does work

As it turns out the people at Red Square set me straight about all of Obama's Marxist programs. Yes, it was me, I was looking at the Stimulus as a massive black hole where billions of our tax dollars were lavished uselessly on make-work projects that expand the federal bureaucracy and provide huge cash flow to democrat political campaigns and propaganda.
This graphic vividly demonstrates just how successful Stimulus was. BTW: Stimulus is now the name for a thing, like Godzilla and Helen Thomas.
